Operating out of Kobe, Japan, Tim Olive has built an impressive discography of solo and collaborative releases using magnetic pickups and electronic interference as his primary sound sources.  While incredibly prolific and honed in on instrumentation, Olive has somehow managed to consistently explore new sound palettes and approaches.  What remains constant about Olive's solo work is it's distinct sense of inevitability and his ability to seamlessly blend improvisation and composition.

Hog Line Hack is no exception, showing a notably more aggressive Olive on magnetic pickups, unstable circuits, and surveillance devices. This one certainly has its nasty moments, with crunching bursts of crude electromagnetic noise and sustained piercing feedback, but it's dynamics and perfectly-timed pauses and attacks set it apart from most "harsh noise".
