LA RACE
JE ME RAPPROCHE DE MON SQUELETTE
Recorded in the former stables of an old Brussels brewery, French trio La Race’s third album is a work of extreme focus and restraint. Super repetitive drum rhythms, controlled feedback and skeletal guitar textures, with barely discernable vocals, La Race builds on ideas kicking around in NYC no wave, 1980s Japanese noise rock, and the early Load and Skin Graft rosters, creating a heavy, alienated sound that is wholly the band’s own.
Co-released with French labels Oniz, Degelite, and Maison De Retraite, Spleencoffin is proud to offer a U.S. release for the album. Pressed on opaque red vinyl and packaged in a monochrome red jacket and inner sleeve including an insert riso-printed on pale watermarked paper dating from 1973, an artifact recovered from the old brewery. Download code also included.
